Astro Surfboards makes custom surfboards from Byron's Arts & Industry Estate, near Suffolk Park and Byron Bay, New South Wales. Boards are shaped by Gary Burden, who has over 30 years of shaping experience and 40 years of surfing, and who takes time to get to know each customer personally when consulting on board options. Boards are glassed, sanded and finished at Gavin Huish's Glassrite factory; Huish has been in the surf industry since 1967. Astro Surfboards has held a partnership with BeeGee Surf Shop in Yokohama, Japan, since 2002, and that Gary Burden is a member of Ballina's Flat Rock Mal Club and a guest member of Burleigh Longboard Club.
