Shortie Surfboards

Shortie Surfboards, run by owner Sam Ayton at 12/30 Kalaroo Rd, Redhead, NSW (sharing a facility with 3P Surfboards), builds custom surfboards designed to match each customer's surfing style and waves, hand-finished with custom pigment work and glass finishing. Pre-designed models include the Micro Mid and Crazy Swayze, both from $900, available in PU or Epoxy construction and white or colour finishes; the business also sells merchandise/clothing. Sam's background includes sweeping shaping room floors as a young person, a boat-building apprenticeship, and founding the "Ayt Dog" surfboard label in high school.
