Ecto Bodysurfing Handplanes

Ecto Handplanes designs and sells bodysurfing handplanes (handboards) and related accessories, including wrist leashes and DIY handplane kits, and also offers custom handboards. Founded in 2012, the company was started by founder and designer Chris Anderson, who won the International Bodysurfing Association (IBSA) World Finals at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Ecto's products are manufactured by Defy Design in Botany, Sydney, using 100% post-consumer recycled PP plastic; the company is otherwise associated with the South Coast of New South Wales. Its featured product, the Moon Rider handplane, is the result of more than ten years of design development and includes a GoPro mount and an adjustable neoprene strap with an optional leash.
