Surfdancer was founded by Kristy Quirk, who holds a Level 3 Surfing Coach certification, is a certified trainer and assessor through the ASI Instructor Training Centre, and has volunteered as a lifesaver at Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club since 1995, including 15-plus years as its head coach; she has also won Australian longboard surfing titles and multiple gold medals in Australian Surf Lifesaving Titles. The business, permitted to operate in Noosa since 2004, has certified over 250 surfing instructors and offers learn-to-surf and dance lessons for all levels, advanced coaching for elite surfers, instructor training and certification programs, and customised programs for schools and community organisations, including Noosaville State School and Sunshine Primary School. Its signature offering, 'Surfdancing', uses curated movement patterns focused on rhythm, flow and progressive modern surfing, for both children and adults, primarily in Noosa, Queensland.
